Week 34 Newsletter

Dear all...What a fabulous start to the year. Our small class sounds eager to learn and very keen to participate. I anticipate a great year. Just a few general comments about last week. On Thursday we met with the other English middle school classes and went to Vasa Parken. The key idea for today was how we travel as a group/ class and to be aware when we are moving around in public when it comes to other members of the public and also road safety. For many in the class, the immediate area surrounding school is very new and will take a few weeks to acclimatise to.
On Friday we went to Haga park and enjoyed a little time in nature working with different teachers doing different sports and team building activities
Please don't forget the special forms that need to be brought in to school. I have an email class list which I will send out to you all. Please remember if you are new to Rodaberg you must fill in a few extra forms such as: Medical history and Special dietary requirements,
The 6en English timetable will be handed out today! Let me know if you need a copy in paper form.
One thing I forgot to mention last week was Indoor shoes. I will bring it up with the children today but it is just so the classroom does not become wet, muddy, dirty during the school day. Seems unnecessary now but when the rain and snow comes it's essential. A nice comfy pair of shoes that are only worn inside will be fine.
This week we will be covering our books with Magazines. If you have any magazines you would like to donate, please send them into the class.
The children will receive all of their Books this week. Some will be needed daily, such as the homework journal, others will not. It is important that the children are not carting unnecessary books to and from school every day. Try to help your child be organised. A tidy well cared for book says a lot about the person who owns it.
Today is our first PE lesson. The class will have a shorter earlier lunch break on Mondays to accommodate this lesson. Remember the children cannot wear the same clothes they are wearing in school to do PE in. It is unhygienic. Please make sure the children have PE clothes to suit the weather. Shorts and t-shirt this week, with some good running shoes/ gym shoes.
At the end of this week I want to take the class on a hiking trip to HellasgĂ„rden. There will also be a trip to Tekniska Museet. More details to follow
At the end of last week Maya brought in some delicious Cookies. I had an idea that this may be a great way to finish the week, that we all take turns bringing in some sort of baking or goodies to finish the week with. Let me know what you think!?!

Well that's that! The end of our first class newsletter. I hope you all had a great weekend and all that warm weather has put you in a good mood for the coming week.

Have a super week!
Paul
