Newsletter Week 35

Dear all,

Our first full week back at school after the summer break has seen us make great progress. We have arranged the desks so that everyone has a good view of the board and we have all been given seats. The classroom seems a lot bigger.

This week we have gone through a lot of the routines and I have spoken sometimes at great length of certain areas of school which are important to consider this year, such as Presentation; how we present ourselves to school and how we present our work when we hand it in says a lot about who we are as students and people.
The class have also made some class instructions/ guidelines for how they think they should behave during lessons. After whittling down the original 40 rules they came to a list of 11. There were some very sensible and well thought out points.

Also this week we have been covering the books we will be using during our subject work. Some children have color coded theirs, others have gone a little off topic but whatever the result I am hoping that they are proud of them. I am hoping to finish them all off with plastic book seal next week. Something to finish over the weekend maybe.

Please remember good shoes for PE and shorts are still a good idea at this time of year. Please name anything you may be worried about losing. The children will need to shower after PE so make sure they have a small towel to dry themselves with afterwards. Maybe you can also inform your child, that putting your head under the tap does not constitute a shower.

Next week we will be beginning the different subjects and along with that will come the Grading Criteria with each subject.

It was a fantastic trip to Tekniska Museet on Friday and I am so happy we went. I hope the class did too.

This Friday we will be going on a hike to try to enjoy the last days of summer and also learn a lot about topographical maps. More information to follow.

Have a super week everyone.

Paul
