Newsletter Week 17 & 18

Dear all,
Hello everyone. I trust you are looking forward to Bonfire night tonight. We need something to keep us warm!

English
We have started a big study about Space. This week we have read about some Science Fiction stories and also done some comprehension work moving towards writing our own stories next week.

Maths
We continued with Geometry! We have looked at Lines, Angles, Triangles, Polygons, and Quadrilaterals. The homework revolves around our last lesson which looked at similar and congruent shapes.

Science
We have started our massive Science Unit Space.
As an excellent intro to the unit, Carmen's father
Gideon came in and showed us his Solar Telescope
so we could all look at the sun. It was my first time
and it was incredible!

Social Studies
We continued with the Continents project which was not finished. 5 of the country studies were due on Tuesday. All 7 of the country studies are due in on Tuesday. Of course they can be handed in before Tuesday if needed. Check the class blog for more details. Make sure the work is done and completed by Tuesday, no excuses!

Art
I was away with a sick Oliver last Friday and this Friday has gone up in smoke too, almost literally.

Gym
We have started each lesson with some fitness and strength training, then moved on to volleyball and getting close to game situations,

Playback Show 2015
This Annual event was under threat of not being held this year, but due to some hard negotiating we have pulled it out of the ashes and back into the limelight. The children can perform a song of up to 2 minutes long in front of the lower and middle grades in a special concert /show on Wednesday 3rd June at 09.40.

Haga Jog
The Annual Haga Jog is back again. The children have been given forms and it is up to them to find sponsorship for this running event. The children should be aiming at raising a minimum of 200-300kr.

Have a super weekend everyone. See you Monday.
Mr W
