Newsletter Week 16

Dear all, 

  Hello everyone. I am back from a wonderful few weeks in New Zealand. It was great to be away but it is also great to be back as we edge towards the end of the year. 

This week some highlights have been Sofia's friend Theresa has been in class with us for 3 days, from Slovakia. Avya won Buzz Off. Murhaf and Joonatan won Homework Journal of the Week, and Murhaf should get a special mention as he had filled out his homework journal every week since before Sports Break. 

This week we have been starting a number of new projects

English

This week we have discussed Film Reviews as this week was there Junior Stockholm Film Festival. We saw three films this week and the children must write a film review based upon what we learnt and how to write film reviews. This film review is due on Monday. Check the blog for more details.

Maths

We started with Geometry! It is another aspect of maths 

which we needed to cover this year and we have learnt 

about Lines and Angles (lesson One) and Exploring 

Measuring Angles (Lesson 2). 

Homework due on Monday Page 94.

Social Studies

We continued with the Continents project which was not finished. Two of the country studies are due on Tuesday. Check the class blog for more details.

Art

We practiced some pencil sketches of still life.

Gym

We dabbled in some gymnastics combined with some strength and fitness exercises

Absences

Again, please make sure you ring the school and notify the school if your child is going to be absent from school. If you have time, you can send me a quick mail as well so I know as soon as I get into school.
